Save Yourselves 2020 movie – story:
Jack (John Reynolds) and Su (Sunita Mani), trendy Brooklyn couples who, like many of their friends, find themselves addicted to technology and unable to get their phones out of hand.
They fear that their mindless scrolling may affect the connection and seize the opportunity to head to a remote forest cottage and swear away from the outside world for a week.
Protected from text messages and push notifications, they thankfully don’t know that the planet is under attack.
As strange events unfold, the couple must find a way back to civilization – or what’s left of it.

“Save Yourselves” (2020 release; 93 min.) A story about John and Sue, a couple in Brooklyn.
As the movie begins, they quarrel over the time of the computer and smartphone.
After attending a party where a best friend offers their refurbished, updated cottage for a week for free, John and Sue eagerly grab the offer, and in addition, they decide to unplug their phones and computers …
At this point, we’re 10 mins. . . . . to a movie, but adding a plot spoils your viewing experience; you have to see for yourself how it all works.

A couple of comments: this low-budget indie film has been scripted and directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson; this is their full-length debut.
The story is the tenth re-imagination of what the “end of the world” might look like, but they bring it with an original twist that I don’t give up.
Watch the movie, and the title of my review makes sense to the world. Sunita Mani (Sue) and John Reynolds (Jackina), best known for their TV work, enjoy the lead roles.
They are in almost every frame of the film and during long episodes. This movie has been reviewed as a sci-fi comedy, and I think it is.
But I have to be honest: I rarely laughed (and I didn’t speak out loud). The film lacks serious weight, but it also lacks enjoyable moments to act as a comedy.
Instead, we get an off-center indie movie that’s weirder than anything else.
